I just wanted to put a plug in for Etymotic Research, the maker of my beloved ER-6i earphones. I’ve had these for a couple of years now. I use them nearly daily. These are in-canal earphones and when you listen to music with them, you instantly orgasm. Or maybe that’s eargasm. Either way, music sounds staggeringly good with these headphones. Anyway, I had one of the phones go out on me, and they were out of warranty. I sent them in for repair and they sent me a brand new pair, no charge. Great customer service on the phone, free replacement. Well worth the $100 I spent. Use your birthday/christmas/channukah/kwanzaa/samhain money next time and get some.

i’ve been looking for some good earphones for a while and looked them up immediately. they’re a lot more expensive here (if you order from the german dealer shown on the etymotic site), 139 Euro, which is almost 190$. ug. i’ll try to find out if i can just order them from the states. i want eargasms too!

bine - I just tried ordering right from their website (rather than going with the dealer) and put in Germany for the country. They just added $20 to shipping which should put the total at USD$169. That’s a bit better anyway. I hadn’t realized the price went up. I think I got mine when they had a special or something. Even at $169, I think I’d buy them. I’m using them for monitors on my recording gear and they’re pretty precise.

thanks jase! just found a dealer in germany who’s not listed on the etymotic site who sells for 175$ including shipping. that sounds reasonable to me and spares me the hassle with customs (it’s a p.i.t.a. here). i’ll have to wait a couple of weeks, though. money’s running out at the moment. i’m off for a weekend workshop now, will be offline for a couple of days and report next week!
