What a nice video. How great for your children that you have those memories for them to watch.

How touching, seeing her reading to the baby. You’re blessed to have these memories. Again, thanks for sharing.

Luckilly, we have a ton of video, from just a couple weeks before Alyssa was born on. Glad you could all check this out.

Thank you for sharing this Jason. Anna reminds me a bit of an old friend of mine–the curly red hair especially.
When was Emma born? From the video, I’m guessing she and Max must be almost exactly the same age. (8/4/04)

Emma was 8/15, so yeah, they’re really close. I think Emma may not be quite as fiery as Max appears to be, but she’s starting to catch up quickly. And she has but a small fraction of the hair Max does.

Thor - I wish you had video too. The video of Anna and her journals may well be my most prized physical possession (and my wedding ring).
Thanks everyone for the kind comments.

Wow. I feel really, really sad thinking about how short her time with Emma was.

Karrie - that was, for me, perhaps the hardest part of Anna’s 17 month illness - the fact that Emma would have no active memory of Anna whatsover. And that the other two would have truncated memories. That’s why reading Thordora’s post about not remember her mom was particularly hard for me to read.
Video is nice, but it can, at best, trigger memories. It can’t replace them. Though I do consider it my job to build memories for my kids of Anna.
