Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. Single parenting and running a house takes a lot of my time. I want to write more, but am not always a wellspring of useful thought. Anyway, I was just reading Atomictumor, fellow netizen and young father who just won the same shit lottery that I did. AT, best wishes to you and your babes.
We’re getting along ok. Alyssa and I are doing Tae Kwon Do. I’ve wanted to do martial arts for years and when she told me that’s what she wanted to do for an activity this fall, I signed her up, figuring I’d enjoy it by proxy. A week later, she asked me to join too. It’s a great sport with a strong focus on discipline, something I could certainly stand to employ more often. Perhaps I’ll learn a bit of non-attachment in the process. Ian’s doing it with us now too. Emma is just a shining light of pure love.

Thanks for the visit, and suggestion re: insurance. I replied long-windedly there, but the short version is, it’s on my list. And soon. We’ll be able to afford it in a few more months.
I can’t offer any decent words for your loss, can’t make it better somehow. I keep looking for that right combination of words that lightens the heart a bit, and I’ll be sure to let you know if I find it.
