Jason & family-
We are deeply saddened by the news of Anna’s passing. Our thoughts & prayers are with you. Anna was a kind, wonderful person that we will greatly miss. We are here for you.

I’m not sure if Anna ever mentioned this, but she and I came up through the ranks of CPT together back in the late 80s/early 90s. I remember her as being very bright and extremely curious — always full of questions that most of us had but never asked the profs. When I came to Purdue several years later, I heard the name “Anna DuFair” and I thought, “Hey, that name sounds similar to someone in many of my classes back in my CPT days at Purdue!” I just thought the name similarity was a coincidence until we met up shortly after I joined Purdue in 1998.
The news of her passing came most unexpectedly this morning. You, Anna, and your family have been in my family’s prayers since Anna’s diagnosis, and you’ll still be in our prayers during this difficult time of loss.
We are all here for you in your time of need. You have beautiful children that will be a daily reminder of Anna’s kind spirit. Please know that Anna is now in a better place, forever watching over the family. My love is with you, always.
Jason, Alyssa, Emma, and Ian,
I am so sorry to hear about Anna. Ugh, words are so inadequate. I have thought of you all often over these last months and will continue to do so. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.

I saw your comment on the thread on parent hacks about motherloss, and my heart nearly broke.
I’m a stranger, so what can I do?
If your daughters ever need a “girls” ear via email, or you ever need a shoulder…
You have my sympathies. It gets easier, but it never goes away.
