Swearing

Anna and I have had a long standing argument about whether or not to swear in front of the kids and whether or not to teach them to swear. I’ve always argued that they are just words and shouldn’t receive any special treatment. She’s always said it’s lazy speech. I think James Robertson’s last paragraph here is pretty convincing (and probably plays to Anna’s argument about lazy speech pretty well). No one is going to convince anyone else by swearing. I suppose swearing is just agression/violence via words and violence never changes someone’s opinion.
