Pizza Day

When I spoke to Alyssa last week about her 1st week at school, I asked her what she liked the best, she said FRIDAY. I asked, why? I thought I might get the usual answer, but I was told Friday is Pizza Day! Good answer. I can’t believe I have a grand daughter in kindergarten!!! Just yesterday she was
crawling on the floor!!! Have a great/safe weekend. Jim

Preparing for School

We went to a meeting this week at school. We are thrilled with our
choice to put Alyssa in multi age and in Mrs. Haueisen’s class.
Alyssa’s favorite things so far are going to music with Mr. V and going
to the library. Her class can go to the library twice a day. She has
also discovered that one can buy chocalotte milk at school. She made up
the rule that she would only buy it once a week. So, I didn’t argue.

Erika’s Soccer Game

We went to a HS soceer game last night. Erika Thomas played. It was
a great game. Alyssa was really bored and doesn’t want to do soceer.
Though I think it would be good for her to try it. The game started at
6:30pm. We brought food. Unfortunately, not enough for Alyssa. It
didn’t end until 8:30pm. Alyssa got really hot and wanted to take off
her clothes in the car. I said No b/c we would be home in minutes. She
screamed as loud as she could all the way home. She keep threatening
that if I didn’t let her take off her dress she would scream. She went
to bed without any books, stories or Momma or Pappa time. I think we
really have to stick to our 7:30pm bed time.

Natural Consequences

Alyssa will be in school. I have been the natural consequences queen this week. Alyssa doesn’t want to get dressed in the morning so she had to buy lunch yesterday b/c I didn’t have time to make her lunch. Today she wanted to walk with a neighbor and you guessed it she didn’t want to get dressed. So, I said she would lose the opportunity to walk with Earl if she was not ready and would not have free play time before school started. Guess what she got dressed. I have added at the end of these comments “it is your choice”. It reduces the power struggle a little bit.
